HOW TO GET STARTED

Download the BCycle app or click "Join Now" in the top-right corner of this webpage.
Choose the pass type which works best for you.

SINGLE RIDE

$2 Single Ride - Unlock any bike for $2.00 and ride as long as you like for just $.10 per minute. Return the bike to any START Bike station for free, or lock and leave anywhere in our service area for just $2.00 extra.
EXPLORER PASS

$10 Explorer Pass - Unlimited 60 minute rides - There is no usage fee for all rides lasting 60 minutes or less - Any individual ride lasting longer than 60 minutes will incur a .10 cent per minute fee for the minutes over 60 - Pass valid for 24 hours - Pass activates upon first unlock - Return the bike to any START Bike station for free, or lock and leave anywhere in our service area for just $2.00 extra.
SEASON PASS

$35 Season Pass - Unlimited 60 minute rides - There is no usage fee for all rides lasting 60 minutes or less - Any individual ride lasting longer than 60 minutes will incur a .10 cent per minute fee for the minutes over 60 - (Season = Approx May 1 - Oct 31) - Return the bike to any START Bike station for free, or lock and leave anywhere in our service area for just $2.00 extra.

Use the map on the BCycle app or at www.startbikejh.com. Zoom in on any station to see number of bikes currently available and footprint of station.

Use your START Card / RFID *Annual Pass Only*:
- Touch your START RFID Card below the LCD screen where it says ‘RFID’ and hold it in place.
- After a brief pause, you'll hear a click from the lock releasing.
- Firmly grasp the lock handle and remove it from the bike. Insert the lock into the lock holder located at the front of the basket.
- Your ride time has now started (**elapsed time and mileage are indicated on the LCD screen**).
Use the BCycle app:
- Open your BCycle app and click the "unlock" button at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the screen on your START bike to reveal unlock code, then enter code into app. Select ‘checkout.’
- After a brief pause, you will hear a click from the lock releasing.
- Firmly grasp lock handle and remove from bike and place it in the lock holder in the basket.
- Your ride time has now started (**elapsed time and mileage are indicated on the LCD screen**).
Use your User ID and PIN:
- Touch the LCD screen to wake up the bike.
- Follow the prompts on the touchscreen. Enter your six-digit user ID followed by your four-digit PIN. Your user ID and PIN can be found in the profile tab of the BCycle app.
- After a brief pause, you will hear a click from the lock releasing.
- Firmly grasp lock handle and remove from bike and place it in the lock holder in the basket.
- Your ride time has now started (**elapsed time and mileage are indicated on the LCD screen**).

Find a START Bike station using your BCycle app.
Position the bike’s rear tire on the black stripe on the base plate of the station.
Position the bike so that the right side / drive side is located immediately next to docking arm of station (keep bike vertical, do not engage kick-stand).
Remove lock from basket and slide through station docking arm and into the rear wheel receiving mechanism.
Once lock is properly engaged, the bikes’ LCD screen will display ‘BIKE LOCKED.’ Tap the ‘END RIDE’ icon on the screen.
** Please insure your bike is properly locked and your ride has ended to avoid usage fees.**
You have now ended your ride and a summary of your trip statistics is displayed on the screen.
